Creative Container Gardens

It’s true–I’ve been bitten by the gardening bug! I’ve had a lifelong fascination with plants and flowers, but it seems like this spring more than others I have really been fascinated with all things gardening. My particular interest has been ways to repurpose items around your home into gardening containers. Anyone can garden, regardless of where you live or your circumstances. I once lived in a second floor condo and grew a very lush garden–including a water garden with fish and water lily–on our small balcony! Since I live frugally I don’t like the idea of spending a lot of money on containers to grow plants–I want to reuse and repurpose wherever I can! I thought I’d share some of my favorite creative repurposing container gardens:

Rain Gutter Gardening

Vertical Gardening

Wagon Garden

Old Sifter

Water Garden in Containers

Dumptruck Garden

Lettuce in a Grocery Bag

Bathtub Garden

Milk Crate Garden

Starbucks Seed Starters

Water Bottle Herb Garden

  1. Some creative planters I did. I filled old buckets like you get at a bar filled with bottled beer and placed the m on the deck railing.
veg garden in 5 gal buckets.
Last fall I bought 6 pumpkin halloween buckets from Walmart and filled them with mums.
This spring I bought some kids play sand buckets from Micheals for $1 and going to plant my spring flowers in there.
